The 2nd annual Almerimar Treasure Hunt took place on Saturday 17 October 2009.
You can see the quizzes and tasks we used in the hunt, the routes we used, the results and photos from each bar using the menu at the top of the page.
The Charity
This year the treasure hunt was in aid of the Aldeas Infantiles SOS España charity. €1222.50 was raised on the evening (figure adjusted upwards slightly from when the money was recounted at Aldeas Infantiles SOS España).
€510.00 was raised via entry fees and donations from the 7 main bars involved. An average of approximately €65.00 euros was raised in each of the 6 bars during the main part of the hunt. Over €300.00 euros was raised in El Arroz during the prize giving and after the event.

The Format
10 teams started from El Espigon in Almerimar at 6.00pm and visited 6 bars.
To gain entry to each bar the teams had to find the answer to an Entry Clue. After that they had to buy a round of drinks and then perform a task or answer a quiz in each bar. Marshals in each bar scored how well each team did and then gave them the Entry Clue for the next bar.
The scoring system was based on snooker. In each bar each team could ´pot´ a red and a colour. As there were 6 bars the maximum break for the night was 48 (6 reds and 6 blacks).
Once a team had visited all 6 bars they had to get to El Arroz in the square to hand in their score sheet by no later than 9.00pm and wait for the prize giving ceremony.

Next Year
We hope to make this a regular annual event so we look forward to seeing you all taking part in the 2010 Almerimar treasure hunt.
